A Memory of 9/11

When 9/11 erupted in 2001, my mother called me at 2am from the US and told me about the scare they had there and she was pretty worried its going to happen on a global scale. In less than a year, my mother passed away. That's how fast things happen, life is full of uncertainty. 

After reading Paul Hawken's "Blessed Unrest", there is much that needs to be done, yet we invest more on selfish interests. The 9/11 attack only wasted US resources on wars against Iraq and Afghanistan yet domestic problems like health care reform and mitigating the impacts of climate change were virtually overlooked. 

We humans often fail to become responsible for future generations and we are far too selfish for needs of ourselves. We could never fully understand what went into the minds of those terrorists who attacked the twin towers. There are just so much divergence in the world in terms of beliefs and values.
