An Indifference Christmas Brings

I don't want to be labeled as the cynic, but this Christmas seemed indifferent. I chose to be alone today, opening gifts on my own, I enabled my daughter to spend Christmas with my aunt so on the least she could feel a little sense of family on a Christmas morning, just like I did when I was about her age. I will join her this afternoon with my gift of tickets to the upcoming Disney on Ice for the New Year with really good seats.

I opened my gift from my boss and it was a plate with an inscription "its better to have one true friend than a hundred relatives". Thankful because, I know for sure who my true friends are and I know I have been a good friend myself, hopefully.
